I tried it out and it's great. I can't lift the gas cans so this works perfect for my riding lawn mower. Just make sure the part of hose that attaches to the pump has a black like thing that hooks to the pump. This unit probably would work great for water or simply air LOL. We purchased it to use for oil. It does not have the power to transfer oil based products. Look elsewhere for an oil application transfer pump. We were transferring 30W oil and it took 45 minutes for 1 quart.
I bought two of these pumps because of some people on YouTube said they work great. So I got the first two and really like them so I ordered two more. I use it to pump gas into my airplane and I use one for putting diesel in my torpedo heater in my garage. Work great and are quiet. This siphon aids in fueling my riding lawn mower. The 5 gallon gas can is too heavy to lift and pour.
This also helps fuel the tractor and snow thrower without lifting the appropriate fuel can. I keep a spare in case the original wears out. I used it a few times and it does the job, great for filling up the chain saw and all small power tools. Clean and quick pumping from gas can to auto gas tank. Flows at just the right rate that you can hear the gas begin to fill up inside the tank neck.
The hose is a little short so I extended it with some drip line PVC hose.
