Use this simple tutorial to get it up and running again! This is a follow-up to our original Smart Extruder teardown, released in early Original Smart Extruder Teardown Video: Had a jammed extruder that was sitting unused for 3 months and it's now printing like a dream.
I couldn't pull the piece out it makerbot replicator 5th generation filament stuck solidified and was stuck to the cold hot end but cutting it flush with the makerbot replicator 5th generation filament stuck white tube prevented it from bending over and blocking the feeding tube and the new filament easily pushed the remaining piece through once heated. Thank you so much! At first I did exactly what you said and found the extra piece, still was jammed. Realize that there was more way down near the nozzle.
Thank you for positing the video. Makerbot replicator 5th generation filament stuck had the same problem. My 3D job paused to print because it ran out of filament, and I was not able to successfully load the new filament in because of the clogging issue. Any suggestion on what to do when the jammed filament gets this stubborn? I actually tried and that and still no luck, but thank you for the help! I ended up calling MakerBot and have it replaced.
Makerbot told me that since it's out of warranty, my only option is to toss it and buy a new one. I finally came across this video when I had the genius idea to put quotations around my search term Not sure what you can do to make this more accessible to other people, but it took me 3 months of googling with a busted extruder on my desk to finally stumble on this!
I'm SURE more people need this info!!! Once I find an allen wrench small enough, I'll post again with the results of my tinkering I'm really makerbot replicator 5th generation filament stuck sure But putting plus in the title is only helpful if somebody searched with the word instead of the symbol, which did not occur to me.
Maybe try listing 5th generation? The tear down worked great! I was able to get into the extruder just fine, but did NOT find a clog. Not sure what else is wrong I tried loosening it with a crescent wrench but it won't budge.
Maybe my weak lady-hands aren't strong enough Makerbot replicator 5th generation filament stuck couple of places where I got stuck - the little knob on the top of the extruder popped off when I opened the casing, and it had two pieces. I didn't recognize the second piece because it flew off and I didn't see where it came from, so it took a bit of problem solving to figure out where it went.
Also, I wish you hadn't fast-forwarded through the reassembly process. I had a lot of trouble figuring out that I had to squeeze the release handle and stretch the back of the base in order to fit the triangular piece back inside.
But I got it back together, and all is well! Thanks so much for posting this!!! It was super helpful! Surprisingly, it is a much better extruder. I'm sure this will be another extremely helpful video First and thx for the info I currently don't have a makerbot I have a xyz printer. Cleaning out a clogged nozzle!
