Building a cold storage device for Bitcoin. I have made several failed attempts to run Ubuntu alongside windows on one of my machines. So, I thought it might just be better to buy a refurbished machine off of Ebay Then just run Ubuntu off a flash drive.

I need to run Ubuntu in an offline mode I am very bitcoin qt install ubuntu from flashing from Linux users and unable to get a good direction.

I don't know a thing about programming All the software works Any input on my idea of buying a machine without an operating system would be appreciated. Well, I have waited 2 hours Iwas thinking for you guys out there Look at Armory's whatever that is requirements, and Ubuntu's requirements, and pick your system based on those.

Personally, I'd tackle why you can't get your dual-boot working rather than go wasting money on a new machine. Might work out a bitcoin qt install ubuntu from flashing cheaper.

To me, your plan of action is expensive and over-complicating things and in the end not as efficient as a hard-drive install. If you ask for help with installing your problems might be fixed in a jiffy. How do you know all the software works? Armory probably will, but if you are intending on using any Windows software, bitcoin qt install ubuntu from flashing will be jumping through hoops to get that to work, if you ever can, because it won't work natively on Linux.

Thanks all for your responses. I thought it would be easier to just have a completely Linux operating system. I have a nice computer that I could just dump the Windows out of it and then install a Linux system on the hard drive. I know two folks locally that could help me with this but they are just too busy. My dual boot works but is buggy I guess you are saying I will try that
