RX580,RX480,RX460 overclocking

Also, thanks to all who contacted us about sponsorship. Started with 2k month and half ago and now I'm breaking 8k. I was eyeballing some cheap rxs to make a ethereum mining rig. Holy fuck I can't find 's anywhere. Anyone have a source? Are there any good power efficient alternatives? I don't mind something weaker as long as it uses comparatively less electricity. What graphics cards, anon? Currently building a rig out of my old computer parts, whats a good gpu for the price??

Already made more than enough to buy the rig just by testning av amd radeon rx 480 for ethereum mining and planning to mine and hold whatever it comes from that rig. Honestly I was checking which parts I needed and started wondering if it was a good idea to mine other stuff and if it would be a good idea to build a second machine with another 6xRX to mine that. After getting past the setup you just leave it to be and works or do you need to constantly check that it's not fucking up?

Their zip just comes with an exe, when I open it all it does is open testning av amd radeon rx 480 for ethereum mining cmd that spams "error ", and the first step in the readme is "build the miner by running 'make'". Doing that in the Sia terminal gives me "error unknown command".

Where the fuck do you guys get the graphics cards? All the good ones are sold out or marked up high on ebay. I have the perfect place to leave the rig, heat, noise and electricity won't be a problem. I was wondering how often I will have to ssh into it to check how is everything going. In fact when I ask for a quote on 6 or 12, the first thing that the dude told me was that it was better to get 1 rx for games and not build machines with 2x rxs. It will not work in hose contexts you described bro.

Made enough trading to buy at least 3 rigs with 6xRXs each I will try to get one running this week and If I don't hang myself while setting that up I will try to build a second one. Kinda old fag here. What's happening with eth tokens, alt coins and the potential reminds me of early 90s internet and how everyone was clueless and thinking someone ordering a fucking pizza online was a joke. And I just ordered some shit from amazon using imaginary internet money and it will get here next week.

What a world we live in. I have a spare GTX and a pc i can use for mining. Is mining etheruem or any other alt coin viable for me? I tried searching but no conclusive results. DO NOT use the sata testning av amd radeon rx 480 for ethereum mining molex to pcie power adaptors unless you want a house fire. After a few hours reading yesterday I read from several forum posts and blog posts the same regarding the quality from the riser cables and the PSU.

I already have a watt platinum spotted and pic related riser cables. Thanks also for the mini checklist, I will spend sunday testning av amd radeon rx 480 for ethereum mining reading about it. GPUs are testning av amd radeon rx 480 for ethereum mining whore, not your wife. Can't believe I'm actually having fun trading and now trying to build the miner. I was just going to append the original article, but I decided to make a new post since I wanted to add a considerable amount of new information on new tests. You can easily check you memory brand using the GPU-z utility. There is always the possibility of something going wrong and the author of this article is not responsible for any changes or damage to your system or graphic cards that may result.

Shortly after the article was published, Claymore released version 9. It now will identify the RX5xx series cards and also offers some small improvements in mining, especially when using the ASM functionality. I suspect this is little more than a visual change, but life goes on. It is this version 9. Claymore it seems has been busy, as we now have version 9. I ran through the same testing with 9.

When mining Ethereum alone, the results were identical to that with 9. This results in a overall system mining efficiency ratio of roughly 4. I have adjusted the Core voltage down to mv in the Claymore launch bat file, which results in around a 0. This results in a respectable sub watt power consumption reading in GPU-z. So as you can see, we are actually using about 25 more watts in reality when mining then what GPU-z indicates, thus the importance of making your own measurements before calculating any ROI on you rigs.

While higher than the 4. The only drawback is increased heat, so with the summer months coming in the Northern hemisphere, this may be a concern and should be taken into consideration. If we inverse the above we get a 0. These figures would be per card with a prorated amount of power for the system and PSU overhead applied as outlined above.

Since the Equihash Zcash algorithm usually prefers a higher core timing than does the Ethash algorithm that is used for Ethereum mining, I also ran a second test run with the core clock set a bit higher to MHz. On the plus side, Zcash is not as memory bandwidth dependent as Ethereum, you can lower the memory clocks a bit, or to default in this case, to save a bit of power.

My results after several minutes of mining can be seen above. I should note that while I am only using one GPU-z window to avoid cluttering up the screenshot too much, all 5 cards are running at the exact same settings. I know a lot of people I talk to like to use the same settings so they can easily switch between algorithms, but it is well worth it to customize all your batch launch files to the requirements of each coin. Because Ethereum is currently more profitable to mine than Zcash on the more modern cards, such as these, I did not spend a lot of time testing this algorithm.

I only ran through the tests enough to ensure stability and to get a base metric to compare results. I do mine Zcash exclusively on my older R7 and R9 based hardware, as it comes out ahead when mining those chipsets, however for any RX series card, the Ethash algorithms reigns supreme at the moment. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain things as in depth as you do. Keep up the great work! I really appreciate your guides.

Below are screen shots if anyone would help that would be amazing. And also changed the volts to from Swampminer, when ever i change my core clock to and mem clock to my system crashes completely and reboots. Try a lower memclock and work your way up. I have a batch of Hynix that are all over the map Some max, max, some max.

I wanted to thank you for your posts about the rx Armor. I was into mining a year ago and all we did back then was tweak with MSI Afterburner. I wanted to ask you friendly if its possible that you provide me with a bios link to improve my rx Armor hashrate wich is around Thank you very much. If anything works fine i will def give you a tip! Just so people are aware, the overclocking results shown in these articles are very memory brand dependent.

The author here has Samsung memory. I bought 7 of the same cards and they all came with Hynix memory. This memory cannot be undervolted or overclocked as much as other brands. I just wanted to put this out there in case anyone with these same cards is scratching their heads trying to get the same results but failing.

I agree that if you can get cards with Samsung memory in them you will have the best luck getting higher hash rates. You may need to copy from a lower strap though in the BIOS, Samsung cards come with tighter timings from the factory so there is not a need to copy from any lower than , but other brands you may need to copy from the next lower memory strap i.

I currently have mine running at circa Power draw is still a bit high for 4 cards, which I am working on. I tried the claymore settings in this article, they dont seem to make any difference — not sure if the wattool is overiding this. I will pay to have my cards fine tuned. I have an ASUS rx dual oc 8gb samsung memory and all the timings are 0: I attempted to copy 0: No idea how that can happen, do you have thoughts on this?

It happened to me several times. The GPU clock locks at w. But can happen on other ocasions. Very strange but it works. This has been, far and away, the absolute best tutorial on getting you system flashed and running, understanding what the adjustments will do when overclocking and how to find that max ratio, and simple flashing walkthrough instructions.

I bought a computer and got it mining just days ago. I figured I needed to know what I was doing before getting a rig going. I searched and searched for info till I got here.

I have a noob question regarding flashing. As instructed, I copied and pasted 2: My memory clock maxes at MHz, getting me an ave.

Will it improve things even more? ALSO, I have read minergate gets a lower hash rate, what pool gives the best hash rate? Thank you for all the help so far! I cant figure out why I have has no problems flashing RX cards for months and now Polaris Editor will not read the timings correctly on any bios it opens.

Rather than having either the mhz or 1: Im basically stuck at this point unable to flash any card. All programs are the latest available as well. Are you using the PBE version linked in the article? There may be other working versions, but I know that particular fork had modifications to allow all memory types to be displayed.

I got a bunch of sumilar cards: Can you help me out with any advise? Thank you so much for sharing your BIOS. This article was incredible helpful. Am I doing anything wrong? I have the exact same card with samsung memory. Best info, very detailed, thanks a lot!!! I would really aprecciate it. I had so many gaps of information I needed help with…your two part series here clarified all of my questions and got me safely up and running.

Much appreciated and thank you for taking your time to make this. Depending on the type of ram you may be able to go higher with the memory clock. What do you mean Type of Ram? Dear Sir I wanted to thank you for your posts about the rx Armor. Keep on going the great work. Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
