Inside Keystore you should see something like the screenshot below. If you have multiple Ethereum wallet address copy them all then save them in a separate folder. Copy the folder "chaindata" in a separate folder.
Copy everything inside this folder ethereum wallet backup and restore a separate ethereum wallet backup and restore. If you are restoring your wallet to a newly installed Ethereum Wallet you should see something like the screenshot below wherein you will see a new address created by the app. Do not worry, Ethereum by default is creating a wallet every each new installation. You can safely delete it if you want to. Open "Keystore", paste all the addresses you have copied in Step 3.
After pasting your wallets you should immediately see it together with the address created by default by the Ethereum Wallet.
In this process we have to open the folder of application data, then we have to close Ethereum Wallet so that ethereum wallet backup and restore will not encounter any problem in restoring application data. The application data folder will open, we should see something like the screenshot below.
Paste all the data you have copied in Step 8, overwrite everything if it ask you to. Close Ethereum Wallet first before pasting the data. I think I tried this, and my ether didn't show up, even though I waited for the Blockchain to be fully downloaded. Just asking for confirmation, because this bugged me a lot. It's a technical question. Your ether will be there in new installation. If you are nervous try to transfer your ether in a coinbase wallet then return it ethereum wallet backup and restore after you installed a new wallet.
What Will I Learn? The Application Data is where your created contracts are stored. Blockchain data chaindata is where the blockchain is stored. This tutorial is useful if you want to transfer your wallet address, blockchain data and wallet application data to another computer or you just want to have a copy of your wallet in another computer or if you just reformatted your computer and installing a new copy of Ethereum Wallet or you just want to uninstall and install your wallet again.
