Setting up vps for crypto trading botsprofit trailer setup

This process isn't that hard but, as I said in Part 1 of this guide, most of the other guides out there assume a level of familiarity with the tech aspects that, sadly, most people don't have. If you are experienced in VPS set-up and bot function, this guide is not for you. This guide, as the title implies, assumes that you have nothing more than a desire to trade and money burning a hole in your pocket. We went with VirMach as our server provider, mainly due to the price.

If you know of one, hook me up! VirMach makes the purchase process pretty painless as well, taking Visa, PayPal and Bitcoin as payment methods. Go ahead and make an account now before purchase, that way you can look at the dashboard a little before you buy. I do not know if you need a VPS if you already have an ultra high speed connection, 1Gbps or higher.

Next it will ask you for your plan, which is how much you want to pay a month. As you can see, the choices are easy to make, but might be confusing if you don't understand them. We chose a 1Gbps connection and the L. That means that our bot will be running on a virtual server hosted in Los Angeles, Ca.

Your data center, however, should be based on the closest location to you. This will allow for the lowest possible latency between you and the bot for monitoring. I cannot stress this enough - this is to reduce latency between YOU and the bot, not the bot and your exchange. For those of you who don't know what latency means, it's a measure of how long a single packet piece of a message from your computer to the server takes to go from your computer, to the server and a response to be received by your computer.

The lower the latency, the faster and more responsive your connection to the bot will be. You will receive information on what the bot is doing faster, and have a better, more responsive VPS interface.

Use the drop down menu and choose Windows Server R2 as the operating system. This will open the VPS dashboard. In an area below this, on the same screen, you will see the server status go from offline to online. Wait for it to say online before continuing. This is actually launching the OS set up on the server. Clicking this button will bring up the Administrator Account set up for Windows Server Notice that the User Name is Administrator. This is will become important in a few steps here.

Go ahead and create a password here. Next, accept the license agreement on the next page and then click 'done' on the last page. This will launch the server login. At this point, use the search bar on your computer next to the start button to search for Remote Desktop Connection. Launch the Remote Desktop Connection. Enter Administrator the whole word, not Admin and the password you created for the administrator account. Now here's where it gets a little confusing. Remember when you finished the administrator account set up?

It launched a window with a login screen right? This problem was likely the biggest hurdle with Profit Trailer until I realized what was happening. Some guides make it sound like you can do the settings changes on a regular NotePad file. Just saying guys, you've got people who, while they might know how to trade, might not know squat about IDE's and their function.

This can be accomplished at https: Pay for the bot. Wait for BitCoin to go from wallet to Profit Trailer creators. Seriously, you're gonna be waiting awhile. I was unable to get a VPS enabled at the time of this installation, so I will be posting another article regarding that process as soon as I can get it up and running on this installation.

You can visit Profit Trailer And You: Get Profit trailer Up and Running!!!! Here's what you've been waiting for and trust me, all the other "prep stuff" will make this part a whole lot smoother.

First, go to https: Next, unzip the files and navigate to the new folder. Open the file named application. Looks like you're about to start coding the next Destiny game doesn't it? What you really need to know is what you are looking at.

You're going to see things like "trading. Each of these lines will have an equals sign on the end of them. Concentrate on what's on the right side of the equals sign, cause that's where your info is going to go.

Remember those API keys you made? Well, here's where they go. You with me so far? Most of the other guides say to start the bot up at this point and I would tend to agree, except you may want to look at the default settings in the pairs and DCA files to ensure that they are set the way you want them. DCA settings are a huge factor in Profit Trailer and I would suggest watching several videos regarding them.

I do not claim to be a crypto expert and do not pretend to understand all the terms. The Profit Trailer Wiki at https: Ok, with that being said, if you feel like your settings are just the way you want them, open up the pairs. Next you will want to click 'run' on the ProfitTrailer.

This will actually start the bot and will open an old style black Windows command line window. Ignore this as it is just the bot starting up, not where you will see what the bot is doing and open your web browser and enter http: This will bring up a login page.

Use the Password you created in the application. This opens the web monitoring dashboard for your bot. Again, I cannot stress enough the importance of following each step and understanding what each of the settings in Profit Trailer are and what they do. There are several important safety valves in Profit Trailer to keep the bot from chewing through your crypto like cookie monster on a 3 day bender.

This sets the amount of coin, in BitCoin, that the bot will use for trading. Just because you have have 1. It makes sense really, but if you're like me, DCA really doesn't mean anything to you. It's Dollar Cost Averaging and it's a profit mechanism used by Profit Trailer What it really means is that, if you don't know or understand what you are doing, it can cause big problems trading.

Any info on other exchange procedures with reagrds to setting up Profit Trailer would be greatly appreciated.

I am not affiliated with or paid by any exchange, developer or site. Thanks for filling the gaps in the wikis and other places. I'm quite technically minded but find geeks often are not the best teachers: You have that talent sir, and it's most appreciated. This bot is profitable, provided you can get a good understanding of the settings.

Crytpo Gnome not affiliated with steemit is likely the best guy to talk to about settings. This bot has given me and my family member, who bought it, some trouble, mainly due to the current market conditions we think.

I'll be adding the instructions on setting up a VPS with it later tonight as we have decided to go ahead and get that done to see if a VPS connection speeds make any difference in the bot's reaction times. I'll let you all know how it goes. Thanks for this article, very informative. How has profit trailer been working for you during this retracement? Would be interesting to hear how it has performed in a bear market.
